On-Site Analyzer - OSA4

The OSA34 is a “ASTM Certified” Designation # D7417-10 USA made instrument that provides ten minute diagnostic fluids analysis for engines, transmissions, power steering systems, and gearboxes. The analytical results are available in either consumer friendly or “scientific” diagnostic formats that are used to evaluate internal condition of engines, transmissions, power steering systems, or gearboxes and the oils being used. Over the years, the On-Site Oil Analyzer® has advanced and expanded to cover a wide range of applications include mining, marine, heavy equipment, automobiles, trucks, off road equipment, generators, mini-laboratories, and other industrial & Military applications. OSA has established the Company as the global leader in used fluids diagnostic analysis.


Device Technical Specifications:

The On-Site Analyzer OSA3 is a tandem spectrometer that integrates an Optical Emissions Spectrometer (OES) and an Infrared Spectrometer. The OES burns a portion of the used oil sample and measures the concentration of sub-microscopic metals in solution. These metals are present due to component wear inside the machine. The Infrared Spectrometer scans a portion of the used oil sample to measure the physical properties of the oil and look for contaminants.

An onboard computer controls both spectrometers and tabulates the results gathered from each. The software generates a report that includes the test results and a diagnostic statement. The diagnostic statement is a summary of the test results and an evaluation of the condition of the engine or transmission under test. The diagnostic statement may also recommend maintenance for specific engine or transmission components.

An On-Board Dual temperature Viscometer is also available to measure the oil viscosity @ 40 Deg. Celsius and 100 Deg. Celsius and measures the viscosity index and also an on-Board Laser particle Counter is also available for hydraulic and industrial oils applications. A printer is attached to the unit for printing of the report.

Today, OSA develops the most advanced automated diagnostic testing in the industry. The new OSA4 MicroLab® is so compact, it has only a 24 inch by 24 inch footprint, while the earliest OSA equipment was about the size of a large car and had to be housed in a dedicated, climate-controlled room.  Will Willis, CEO of On-Site Analysis, Inc. remarks that “…the MicroLab reflects just how far The Company has come since its early days as a testing laboratory.”  He further explains the business reasoning behind On-Site’s evolution; “… we realized that by the time our lab test results were getting back to our customers, the equipment had already broken down or was already back on the road - -well before the problem identified in the laboratory test had been corrected…so we began the development work to put sophisticated fluids testing on the customer’s premise where it can be used to greatest effect…Now, our equipment is so compact and reliable; mining and oil-rig operators use it in remote locations. ”

Aluminum, Chromium Copper, Iron, Lead and Tin, Molybdenum, Silicon (sand), Potassium, Sodium, Nickel, Titanium, Manganese, Vanadium, Boron, Magnesium, Calcium, Barium, Phosphorus & Zinc. All measurements are in (ppm)
